Flecken Zechlin Nature idyll and resort
Flecken Zechlin in the north of Rheinsberg is a very special spot of nature. The recognised health resort is located directly on the border to Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and, in terms of landscape, is part of the south-western tip of the Mecklenburg Lake District. The alleys of the historic town centre wind their way across the hillside by the Black Lake. On the market square, the classicist parish church next to a 200-year-old oak tree tells of the history of the village, which was once a monk's farm and later a residence of the Brandenburg Hohenzollerns. Visitors have a wide view over the Black and Great Zechlin Lakes from the bridge of the Zechlin Canal. As part of the Rheinsberg lake district, the waters belong to a network of waterways and are particularly clean. Thus, the bathing spots at Großer Zechliner See invite you to swim and the nearby beech forests of the Stechlin-Ruppiner Land Nature Park invite you to explore.
