Liebenberg Romanticism guaranteed
The three places Liebenberg, Liebenwalde and Liebenthal are also called the love triangle. Not only because all the names contain the word love, people also like to get married here. Schloss & Gut Liebenberg is particularly popular with couples. Its imposing manor house facade is visible from afar and forms the center of the village as an ensemble with the historic fieldstone church and the half-timbered inspector's house. The heart of the estate, however, is the park designed by Lenné, which is open to strollers. The estate, which was home to various noble families for centuries, was already the scene of illustrious celebrations by Theodor Fontane and Kaiser Wilhelm II. High-ranking functionaries from the German Empire to the GDR era used the neighboring forests for hunting trips or to relax in the romantic lake house at the Großer Lankesee. The nearby nature reserve Liebenberger Bruch with its old alder-ash forests is also an inviting place for a hike.
