6. Social media plugins

On the site, you can quickly and easily share content on the social networks Facebook and Twitter.

For this purpose, we have created the possibility to use these services with our social buttons - but still protect your privacy.

Social media buttons with data protection (Shariff)

Tourismusverband Ruppiner Seenland e.V. is pleased if you share content from our website on Facebook, Twitter and WhatsApp. For this purpose, we do not use the "official" social media buttons of the networks, but use the buttons provided by the c't project "Shariff" (https://www.heise.de/ct/artikel/Shariff-Social-Media-Buttons-mit-Datenschutz-2467514.html).

The "c't Shariff" takes care that social networks can only request data from users when they click on the corresponding button and the user logs in to the respective network. The "c't Shariff" button therefore is initially only a link to the network. If the user is already logged in to the corresponding network in the background, the IP address is transmitted and the surfing behavior is tracked. Common social media buttons, on the other hand, transmit user data with every page view and give the social networks precise information about your surfing behavior (user tracking). You do not need to be logged in or a member of the network to do this.

It also explains which setting options Facebook offers to protect the privacy of the data subject. In addition, various applications are available that make it possible to suppress data transmission to Facebook. Such applications can be used by the data subject to suppress data transmission to Facebook.

Twitter

The controller has integrated components of the microblogging service Twitter on this website, namely the library Typeahead, in order to provide users with suggestions in text fields for the automatic completion of search terms. The open source product Typeahead does not collect any personal data. There is a legitimate interest in the use of Typeahead for the convenient use of the search function. You can nevertheless deactivate this service.

The data is processed by Twitter International Company, One Cumberland Place, Fenian Street, Dublin 2, D02 AX07, IE:.
