Menz The heart of the nature park
Time out in the middle of nature: Menz is the ideal place for this. Situated in the Stechlin-Ruppiner Land Nature Park and the Stechlin Nature Reserve, the Angerdorf is a good starting point for tours through the extensive forest and lake landscape. Here, among old beech and oak trees, visitors may encounter an osprey or a kingfisher. The moorland adventure trail around the Menzer Roofensee is no longer an insider's tip: enchanted moorland forests like something out of a fairy tale meet a diverse flora and fauna here. Similar to the nearby Großer Stechlinsee, the Roofensee is a clear-water lake and is therefore ideal for swimming and fishing. Guests can also experience nature with all their senses at the Stechlin Nature Park House. In addition to the interactive permanent exhibition, the neighbouring sensory garden invites visitors to taste, feel, smell and hear. Not far away, the fieldstone church with elements dating back to the 13th century bears witness to the village's more than 700-year history.
