An easy canoe tour that is also suitable for families. The starting point is the jetty by the Königs Wusterhausen town lock, right by the Nottekanal and near the picturesque Mühleninsel island. Königs Wusterhausen castle and castle grounds are very near, as is the aquatic playground.

Finish: “Am Lankensee” campsite Zernsdorf

How to get there:
  • Public transport: From Berlin central station, take the RE2 (Cottbus) to Königs Wusterhausen (about 30 minutes).
  • Car: Take the A113 and A13 motorways from Berlin to Königs Wusterhausen (about 1 hour).


Return journey:

  • Public transport: From Zernsdorf, take the RB36 regional train to Königs Wusterhausen. From here, take the RE2 regional express train (Wismar) to Berlin central station (about 1 hour).
  • Car: From Zernsdorf, take the RB36 regional train to Königs Wusterhausen to return to your car (about 15 minutes).


Route: Königs Wusterhausen, Mottekanal, Dahme, Lake Lankensee, Zernsdorf

Tour description: To start with, the journey runs through Königs Wusterhausen harbour, Brandenburg’s largest harbour. It then takes a sharp right turn into the River Dahme, which you follow upstream. You will soon have reached Niederlehme and be approaching the Neue Mühle lock. After passing through, follow the riverside promenade for a while, past the zoo with the Husareneck headland and the river soon opens into Lake Krimnicksee.

This is followed by Lake Krüppelsee. You can tie up and rest at the Senzig lake bridge. The towns of Zernsdorf and Kablow follow on. You can also start this tour from these towns.

From Lake Krüpelsee, you will travel northwards into the Zernsdorfer Lankensee lake, passing under a bridge. Zernsdorf lies on the left bank and Kablow on the right. On the western shore lies the “Am Lankensee” campsite, which is the point where the canoe tour ends.

Detour: You can make a detour from Lake Lankensee into Lake Uckleysee.

Nautical information: Passage from Lake Lankensee into Lake Uckleysee: Depending on the water level, it can be difficult to pass under the road bridge here.
