Since 1878, this traditional country restaurant has devoted itself completely to good, regional cooking – its menu clearly reflects its proximity to the Spreewald Forest. Guests can choose from dishes such as goulash with potatoes and cucumber salad or Spreewald brawn, fish dishes prepared with zander or trout and various types of steaks. Visitors are particularly fond of “Großmutters Hefeplinsen” (yeast pancakes) for pudding. And if you’re in luck, the chef might serve a portion of Briesen history with your meal.

The restaurant is in the middle of the town in a historic town house. Visitors will feel instantly at home at one of the many attractively laid tables in the cosy, homely dining area with its light wood panelling. A hall with high arched windows is ideal for major events. On warm days, meals are also served at a few tables on the small outdoor terrace in front of the restaurant.
