The tour leads along wet meadows and mixed pine forest directly to the steppe-like heathland in the wilderness area. Hiking enthusiasts can take a detour from the circular trail to the ponds near Frankenfelde. The trail leads across the former Jüterbog military training area. Walkers enter at their own risk. Outside the demilitarized paths, there is danger from old ordnance and buildings in danger of collapsing.

Length: 4.8 km

Start: Bardenitz/Pechüle

Arrival/ Departure: By car to Nuthe-Urstromtal, Frankenförde district, parking facilities in the floodplain, access via Bukewitzer Weg

Route description:

From Frankenförde, the tour continues via the Bukewitzer Weg along wet meadows directly into the wilderness area. The route crosses mixed pine forest on sandy paths until the semi-open heathland becomes visible. Here, the purple of the heather blossom shines in late summer and in spring, a frog concert can be heard from the ponds near Frankenfelde. With a bit of luck, you may spot the tracks of the local wolf family on the sandy paths or a sand lizard may cross your path. On the tour, you can experience how wilderness is allowed to develop without human intervention.
