The circular tour starts in Rieben on Hennickendorfer Straße, not far from the Weidelandfarm. The farm store or vending machine sells sausages and meat from pasture-raised cattle and chickens as well as eggs from the farm. The route continues along meadows and pastures, through mixed deciduous forest to the Riebener Steg, from where you can enjoy an undisturbed view of the birdlife of the reed-framed lake and spot great crested grebes, common terns and marsh harriers. During bird migration, thousands of ducks, geese and cranes use the lake as a roosting site.

The route continues past meadows and pastures along an avenue of fruit trees back to the idyllic village of Rieben. Regional products can be purchased in a second farm store at the stork's nest.

From the route, it is possible to take a detour to the Pfeffergraben crossing, which the beaver has transformed into a vast expanse of water with its building activities.
