The Hotel Am Jägertor, located in the centre of Potsdam, owes its name to the gate Jägertor, the oldest city gate in Potsdam, which is directly opposite the hotel. When the city was expanded at the end of the 19th century, the city wall gave way to the spacious avenue with buildings in the late classicist style, including today's hotel and lounge.
