Lake Zermützelsee is located in the district of Ostprignitz-Ruppin in the north of Brandenburg in the heart of the Ruppiner Schweiz region and lies north of the central area of Neuruppin between Lake Tornowsee and Lake Tetzensee.

Lake Zermützelsee has a surface area of around 1.2 square kilometres. It has an average depth of four metres and at its deepest point it is seven metres deep.
