From the Spreewald town of Lübbenau, this canoe tour takes you to the Barzlin nature reserve. With a surface area of about four hectares, the Barzlin protrudes about one metre out of the lowlands like an island. Excavations have shown that there was a settlement here as long as 3000 years ago. Today the Barzlin is home to rare plants and animals. The tour runs through four locks, some of which are self-operated. This route is about 10 kilometres in length – an outing to the virtually unspoilt Spreewald countryside. Dragonflies accompany your tour, the banks of the river are overgrown with reeds and you will hear the croaking of frogs. High trees are reflected in the water.
