The Altfriesack lock is located between Lake Ruppiner See and Lake Bützsee. Anyone who doesn’t want to manoeuvre through the lock can travel along the Mühlenfließ River on the left hand side. A weir is situated at the height of the lock, around which canoes and small boats can be carried on the northern riverbank. A portage cart is available here.

Altfriesack is also an ideal starting point for the very attractive round trip through the Rhinluch fen landscape. Visitors should plan in two days for this trip.
