The design of the ‘Schinkelhof’ complex is attributed to the young K.F. Schinkel (1781-1841) and was carried out between 1802 and 1806 by Berlin architect David Gilly. A long-term conversion and extension of the attic has resulted in these three holiday apartments. The historic inspector's house is part of the impressive octagonal Behlendorf estate. This ensemble consists mainly of fieldstone buildings covered with plank roofs (known as Gilly's barrel vaults) and are significant examples of Prussian architecture.
