The facility was built in the 1930s as a hunting and moated castle by a Berlin banker’s family. It is surrounded by an unspoilt park with stands of rhododendrons. Lake Thymensee nature conservation area is also nearby. There is direct access to the lake. The house is run by the “Lebenshilfe für Menschen mit geistiger Behinderung Landesverband Brandenburg e. V.” (association for people with intellectual disabilities). The rooms are modern and cosy as well as accessible.

There is a total of 30 single rooms, twin rooms and family rooms. All of the rooms have a bathroom with a shower or bath. Mobility lifts and ceiling hoists are available for guests with physical disabilities. There are lots of recreational activities on the grounds, such as table tennis and football, table football, darts and a sauna. A sunbathing lawn, beer garden, barbecue area and hiking trails invite you to engage in outdoor activities. A barbecue area offers the romance of a camp fire for groups and families.

The rooms can be booked with half or full board.
