Where the Fontane Festival and many other events of the fontane.kosmos are developed and organised in the heart of Neuruppin, a cosy and very individual venue has also established itself. Some of the Fontane Festival events take place in the historic ensemble of courtyard, former washhouse and large garden at Präsidentenstraße 47 on Neuruppin's Bernhard-Brasch-Platz: Readings, music evenings, workshops, courtyard festivals.

The Fontane Festival office is also located here, a think tank for the numerous event formats of the fontane.kosmos. Tickets and information about the Fontane Festival and other cultural and tourist offers are available at the festival office.

The brick washhouse in the courtyard has been transformed into a rustic venue for up to 30 guests.

In 2010, the Fontane Festival started with an extensive cultural programme in honour of Neuruppin's cosmopolitan Theodor Fontane. The programme makers see the fontane.kosmos as a challenge to preserve the tradition of his poetry, but also to create something new in his spirit. They do not want to use the preservation of tradition to create folklore, but to discover what is foreign beneath and behind the seemingly familiar worlds. Theodor Fontane is their guiding star. With him they navigate, sometimes foolhardily, sometimes calmly, through an increasingly confusing present that overwhelms the senses. They invite you to the great adventures of literature.

The fontane.kosmos now includes several festivals: the Fontane Festival, the European Festival of Travel Literature "Neben der Spur", the children's and youth literature festival "querfeld(x)", writing and photography competitions, the Fontane Song Contest, "Hereinspaziert - Neuruppiner öffnen ihre Höfe", excursions to Fontaneland, the poetry festival "Pop & Petersilie", the mobile Fontane task force, the online format "Fontane keimfrei" and much more.
