The village church is located right next to the market place, hidden behind big old lime trees. It is an early Gothic fieldstone building, and the core of its enclosing walls – made of square-edged fieldstones – corresponds almost precisely to the original 13th century layout.

It has a nave which is joined to the broad tower building in front and to the retracted choir by means of a large ogival arch opening in each. There are still traces of a group of three high ogival windows with a higher central window in the east wall of the choir. The original windows of the nave were without doubt of the same type. The remains of the old windows on the tower likewise show evidence of early Gothic origins.
