Interesting, varied canal that runs through the Oberhavel district of Brandenburg. Surrounded by low-density woodlands fields and meadows, the canal offers everything you need for recreation and relaxation. It terms of navigability, it is quite confined in some areas and there is not always enough space for fishing. Definitely allow for long walks when spin fishing and constantly changing places. In the warm season, the evening and night hours are particularly suitable for fishing since many leisure boaters only go out during the day. Sometimes standing, sometimes flowing slowly, the canal provides a mixed habitat for all fish species that are indigenous to Brandenburg.

The canal is managed by the fishing association Landesanglerverband Brandenburg e.V. under the reference number P 14-211. It is maintained by the association Kreisanglerverband Oberhavel e.V. Fully paying members of DAV Berlin LAV Brandenburg can fish here free of charge. What is more, the use of 2 rods and night fishing are allowed here. In Brandenburg, coarse fishing is permitted without a permit, so holidaymakers can fish to their hearts’ content here. You will need a tourist fishing permit, however, which is available at almost all tourist information centres.
