Fürstenberg Lock is at kilometre 60.70 of the Upper Havel Waterway in Fürstenberg/Havel in the district of Oberhavel. It is on the connection between Lake Röblinsee and Lake Baalensee east of the road bridge of Federal Highway 96.

An inspection in 2004 revealed significant structural faults throughout the entire lock facility. In 2009, the construction contract to rebuilt it was awarded and executed between 2009 and 2010. The construction costs came to about Euro 7 million and were born by the Federal Waterways and Shipping Office.

Because the Upper Havel Waterway is no longer used by freight ships and is now only used by a few small passenger boats, it has become a popular place for sports boats of all sizes and classes.
