The Hakenberg lock is located not far from the village of the same name on the Old Rhin. It was built in 1852 and restored in 1996. At the time of peat cutting, the lock had an important function for the transport of peat via the Ruppin waterway to Berlin. The water level of the Rhinluch is 1.50 to 1.80 meters, which is considerably lower than the water level of the Fehrbellin and Ruppin waterways.
