Just take a quick breath of fresh air: The short, 3 kilometre circular trail around the idyllic Sidowsee lake in Himmelpfort is particularly suitable for a "short excursion in between". The trail runs close to the wooded shore of the natural lake, which is part of a group of interconnected lakes in Himmelpfort and is located in the Uckermark Lakes Nature Park.

In Himmelpfort, a district of Fürstenberg an der Havel and a state-recognised resort, a historic monastery ruin and a monastery herb garden are just waiting to be discovered.

Arrival/departure:

By car: A10 motorway (northern Berliner Ring) at the Oranienburg junction, then follow the B96 to Fürstenberg/Havel. In Fürstenberg take the K6515 to Himmelpfort as far as Zur Hasenheide 14.

Public transport: RE 5 (from Berlin main station or from Stralsund or Rostock) to Fürstenberg/Havel main station. From here to the bus station (1 min. walk) change to bus 839 in the direction of Bredereiche. The bus stops in Himmelpfort at Zur Hasenheide 14.

Route: Himmelpfort - around the Sidowsee - Himmelpfort

Route description:

The starting point of the hike is the Zur Hasenheide car park, right next to the Himmelpforter Chocolaterie. The hiking trail is marked with square-shaped markings. The background is white and there is a yellow line in the centre. The path leads into the forest at the end of the car park. After a short time, you reach a tarmac section that leads through residential areas. At the end of the weekend houses, the path leads down to the lake and runs along there almost to the end of the circular route. During the hike, you can observe a wide variety of flora and fauna. The hiking trail runs along the road for a while before returning to the car park and the starting point.
