The town of Zehdenick with Huckleberrys Raft Station at the Schlossmarina castle marina is located exactly midway between Berlin and Neustrelitz. From here, visitors can take a raft on the most beautiful waterway in East Germany, the Upper Havel Waterway. The perfect spot for those who want to enjoy the lush nature, peace and solitude. A great tip: Be sure to branch off into the side waters as there is very little boat traffic there.

History enthusiasts should stop off at the Ziegeleipark Mildenberg Brickworks Park and take the historic narrow-gauge railway to the old lime kilns. Materials for the construction of Berlin were sourced from here at the time of rapid industrial expansion in Germany and shipped by the waterway to the capital city.
Travelling further north on the Upper Havel Waterway, visitors can enjoy the calm Wentow-Gewässer canal. There is no inland waterway traffic and very infrequent passenger boat traffic so there are beautiful moorings for overnight stays on these waterways.
A stopover in Fürstenberg/Havel is also always worthwhile, for a relaxing stroll through the historic town centre or for a visit to the Baroque castle with its world-famous porcelain factory. This is completely remarkable.
Visitors deciding to take the southern tour from Zehdenick will enjoy the picturesque nature along the Upper Havel Waterway. The Langer Trödel waterway, the western section of the Finow Canal, branches off towards the Zerpenschleuse lock in the small town of Liebenwalde. Anyone wanting to escape from crowded city life is in the right place on the Langer Trödel waterway because they can dip into a section of Brandenburg’s primeval forest.
