Since the anniversary year 2020, the Brandenburg-Prussia Museum in Wustrau presents a completely revised main exhibition. The museum offers a new, fresh look at Prussia: one room is dedicated to strong Prussian female personalities - from Dorothea Erxleben, the world's first female doctor, to the successful locomotive manufacturer Sophie Henschel. The "Prussian ethic of duty" emerges from the interaction of Enlightenment and Pietism in Halle at the end of the 17th century. The toy collection of Anneliese Bödecker, wife of the museum's founder, shows toys as a mirror of society in the German Empire. Industrialization is depicted with its light and dark sides: The rise to world leadership, especially in the optical industry, chemistry and the electrical industry is contrasted with the housing shortage and the spread of cholera and tuberculosis in the rapidly growing cities.

The Brandenburg-Prussia Museum is located in the picturesque Zieten village of Wustrau at the southern beginning of Lake Ruppin. In addition to the castle of the von Zieten family (Hans Joachim von Zieten, Frederick II's equestrian general resided in Wustrau), the old village church and the romantic village center, visitors can experience the beautiful landscape of the Ruppiner Seenland by water, bicycle or on foot.

Guided tours are offered on the weekends and other tours can be booked.

Please check again before your visit on the website www.brandenburg-preussen-museum.de or by phone if there are corona-related changes.
