The artists' village of Netzeband, located near Neuruppin, has been offering exceptional cultural experiences since 1996: Every summer, classical plays - including those by Fontane, Brecht and Shakespeare - are performed as synchronised theatre at the ‘Netzeband Theatre Summer’ on the large open-air natural stage in the estate park below the Temnitz Church. The special thing about it: the actors wear oversized masks and act with great gestures in synchronisation with a pre-produced audio installation. Renowned actors such as Corinna Harfouch, Tom Quaas and Gerd Silberbauer ‘donate’ their voices to the theatre summer. More than 50 expressive, imaginative characters can be seen in Dylan Thomas' play ‘Under the Milk Forest’, which has since become a cult piece. There is also always a children's and family play on the programme.
